This morning, the ladies were crazy loud, bok-bokking like something exciting was going to happen. Somebody is going to lay an egg, I thought.
Sure enough, Ben checked the next boxes and there was Margarita sitting on an egg. Margarita! She’s the youngest of our chickens (only by a week, but still). I thought for sure Gertrude would be first.
The other day I did the math and found that the supplies for our coop and run cost approximately $1,000. (This doesn’t include other chicken-related expenses, such as stuff for the brooder, food, the chickens themselves, books, chicken class, the license, etc.) So at least for now, this seems like a very, very expensive little egg.
